Who can Vote ?

Any Indian citizen residing within the country, who has attained the age of 18,
can enroll himself/herself as General Voter

How To Register to Vote ?

Online Process-

1. Go to the official website of Nvsp
2. Click on Registeration for new elector, click on Login/Register

   

3. Enter your user name and password, fill the captcha and login

   

4. With Form 6 a new window will open - Form 6
5. Upload the copies of your necessary documents
   • ID proof- Like Passport, Driving License, Pan Card, Student Identification Card
   • Address proof - A proof of residenceis also necessary to submit.
   • For Age Proof- 
     • Birth certificate issued by the Municipal Authority or District Office of the Registrar
     • If he/she is 10 class pass student then mark sheet of 10th class
6. Submit your form , after submitting your form you will receive a receipt of submission

Offline Process-

1. You can also enroll offline. Fill Form 6 (given above) in two copies . Form 6 is also available free of cost in offices
   of Electoral Registration Officers / Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers
2. Copies of the relevant documents can be filed in person before the concerned Electoral Registration Officer /
   Assistant Electoral Registration Officer
3. Sent the document by post addressed to him or can be handed over to the Booth Level Officer of your polling area
4. You can Call 1950 / 1800111950 for any help regarding any queries/issues

SMS to 1950

SMS <ECI> space <EPIC No> to 1950 (EPIC stands for Electors Photo Identity Card also commonly known as Voter ID card).
Example - If your EPIC is 12345678 then sms ECI 12345678 to 1950

Documents Requirements

1. Driving license,
2. Passport,
3. Service Identity Card with photograph issued by the Central State Government Passbook with photograph issued by bank / post office Pan Card, Smart cards issued by RGI under NPR,
4. MNREGA job card,
5. Health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labor Pension documents with photographs,
6. official identity cards issued to MPs / MLAs / MLCs,
7. Aadhar Card

Documents required for Form 6

1. One recent passport size coloured photograph, duly affixed in the box given for the purpose in Form 6
2. Photo-copies of documentary proof of age and residence are required

How to check if you are registered to vote ?

1. Open National Voters Service Portal Visit
2. Search by details or EPIC No.
3. You can search and verify your own details after login
4. If your Name appears in the list, you are eligible to vote
5. If not, you need to register again at nvsp

There is no registeration fee, its free of cost process

Days

It will take 30-40 days for new voter id ,it will be sent to your home address

If EPIC No. has some errors?

You can make an application in Form 8 for correction of the errors in your EPIC. The Electoral Registration Officer
will issue a new EPIC, with the same number, after making the necessary corrections.

For correction of the voter card, it wil take 10-15 days
